The
Thanksgiving Day Parade: probably the most famous parade in America.
Could be the most famous parade in the whole world. It is huge,
perfectly organized and a total joy to watch. Watching it on TV is
nowhere near the reality of being there. The parade always kicks off
at 9:00 AM and regardless of the weather or crowds or anything else
that could get in the way, in ends with Santa in front of Macy's at
12:00 Noon. After all, it is live TV. I have been fortunate to be
at the parade as an Auxiliary Police Officer. That means I get to
be right out there on the street as it passes. About the only
downside is that each year I have absolutely no idea of who most of
the 'stars' on the floats are. One year the Beach Boys were there. I
walked out to their float and thanked them for finally being a group
that recognized. They were nice enough to laugh. This year KISS was
there, so I got to say hello to someone else. One of them was a
camper of mine when I was a summer camp counselor. That's a whole
other story. Anyway, I don't know what this balloon is supposed to
be, but it reminds me of one of my elementary school teachers.
And
this is me at work at the parade, protecting America:

As always Maury, working hard. I'm glad you would never take advantage of such an opportunity to have your photo taken with a bevy of attractive women. Botsko
The bevy of beauties looked better in person. I wish I could say that Maury looks better in person.
