Times Square, New Year's Eve 2014, 11:47 AM

These ladies came all the way from San Fransisco to be here When The Ball Drops. That will be happening in a bit over 12 hours.  They are in a good position to see it, right at the barricade. However between now and then, they can not move away. If they do, for any reason, they can not return. There is no bathroom anywhere near by. In a while the sun will have moved a bit to the west and they will be in the shadow of a large building. It is cold. It will start getting lots colder. When they try to leave after midnight, they will discover that it takes lots longer than they figured to get out of the area. And that there are no public restrooms anywhere near by. They each also paid $10 for the funny glasses and $20 more for that hat.

These people may be in an even better spot to Watch The Ball Drop
They don't seem to be as happy about it.

This guy will make about 1000% on his investment this afternoon.
He will then go home and watch everyone on TV. He is very happy.

Finally, here is someone from WABC News.
He is explaining to the world what is going on around him.
