"What Kinda Camera........?"

If I had shot a photo of my Fuji X-10 out of the box, it would have looked something like this. Actually it would have looked exactly like this shot of a brand new one that I swiped off an Internet ad:

This is what my X-10 looks like today:

This is my current favorite snapshot/carrying around camera. It is basically a simple camera but the Fuji folks have seen fit to include a bunch of built in bells and whistles that I don't really understand and have never used.  Lots of times I just set it to "Auto" so the camera decides stuff.  I can usually do all that, but I just have these lazy spurts.

I have modified it a bit, added some pieces so that it fits my hand - and my world - a bit better.  Feels right now.  I also covered it with black tape to make it look less attractive to bad guys.  I suppose all that tape probably protects the finish.  Some day I will have to look.

We have been to some great places together.  Like on the subway almost every day.  Or to Cambodia for a few weeks. It worked pretty well in both places.  In the course of our adventures my X-10 has been dropped, rained on, snowed on, pummeled, prodded, generally been abused and gone through some indignities I will not dwell on. Shots from such goings on show up regularly on my web site and blog. Occasionally some even get sold.  One switch on it is starting to get a bit worn. I just checked: Fuji will charge me about what I paid for the camera to have that repaired.

The Fuji folks have also come out with several newer models over the past few years.  I still like this one best. If it ever really breaks down, I will probably look for another one.

Meantime, some random snapshots:
