A
rumored Marian Apparition has brought thousands of religious pilgrims - along with the curious - to a quite street in Brooklyn. It is not
front lawn statue of the Holy Mother that is the object of their
attention, but rather the figure that has appeared behind her. Many
claim that the figure resembles a Presidential candidate in the up
coming election and that his appearance at this time and place is a
clear message from God.
The
apparition, first seen several days ago, had been described as having
“golden hair” and a “beatific expression.” Both have been
likened to the candidate.
Homeowner
Ignatz Bothcagallopo, a retired postal worker, part time lab animal
and Judge Judy stalker, was at first irate over the sudden attention
to his front yard. “I mean, it is a dumb Halloween decoration my wife got at K-mart. On sale last year at 50% off, too. What kinda religious thing is that?
And now all of a sudden I got all these people kneeling on my
sidewalk, holding up crutches and babies and waving beads! On top of that, most of 'em also wanna grab a
piece of my privet hedge and use my bathroom!”
His
anger apparently moderated when his cousin Bobo set up a stand selling
Holy Hedge Leaves and Sacred Straw Wigs. Bobo also installed a pay
Port-O-San in his driveway.
Said
Bothcasgallopo,“These nuts keep commin', we gonna have one hell of
a Christmas!”
Marian
apparitions sometimes are reported to recur at the same site over an
extended period of time. In the majority of Marian apparitions only
one person or a few people report having witnessed the apparition.
Exceptions to this can have thousands who claim to see it over a
period of time.
This is he first one reported on Avenue U in
Brooklyn.
Addendum:
A dear friend who is knowledgeable about such things has informed me
that a
Marian Apparition consists of Mary and nobody else.
He also
said the Holy Mother was known to be compassionate and
would probably
forgive me for the error, but to be careful crossing streets for a
while.
Just to be on the safe side.
