I
bought this button from a vendor someplace in Washington 55 years ago
today. It was a good day. There was a huge peaceful turnout, but
“they” were afraid that terrible things were going to happen.
Our chartered buses were ordered to line up around the White House to
form a barricade. About the only effect this had was to make it
harder for us to find our buses when the day was over.
It was a good day. Maybe a great day. All I know for sure is that somehow
I have managed to hang on to the button.
