My Old Neighborhood, This Afternoon.......

Corner of Houston Street and Bowery: I used to live around the corner, back in the 60’s before the Lower East Side became the East Village.  These days, that differance is about $2000 a month.   Flower Power was in full bloom, love was free and a hit of good acid could make my living room wall look like this.  Maybe a bit more colorful.  Which is why my first reaction to seeing it – I will swear it was not there last week! – was that this is a really heavy acid flashback.  At my age, I think I am supposed to worry when that happens.  Fortunately, other passing folks confirmed that this was in fact there.  I guess I am pretty much relieved, but also a bit disappointed………..
