New York's latest outdoor singles bar also promoted art, recycling and safe sex. The innovative new venture located on 23rd Street was brain child of Irving 'Scooby-Doo' Lipshitz who is best known as inventor of bagels that glowed in the dark. These were not a commercial success. The sidewalk installation wasn't either. It llasted several hours until it was closed by the Board of Health. Patrons were advised to burn the clothes they were wearing.
